The installer doesn't detect that the mobile device is connected.
First of all, is the operating system of your mobile device "Windows Mobile" ? By now, BirdieSync doesn't support other operating systems like Blackberry or Symbian.
If you still have a problem with your Windows Mobile device, you may try to restart ActiveSync or restart the WMDC.
