If you have a problem with ActiveSync (for instance your mobile device doesn't seem to be detected and cannot connect), it can be necessary to restart it. But it is generally not necessary to reboot your computer. You can simply restart the ActiveSync processes.
The easiest way is to download ActiveSyncToggle and execute it.
You can also do the following operations:
- Disconnect your mobile device
- Kill wcesmgr.exe
- Kill wcescomm.exe
- Kill rapimgr.exe
- Manually restart ActiveSync (from the Start menu for instance). This is important: ActiveSync is not automatically restarted when you connect your mobile device.
