I am trying to update from BirdieSync 1.6 to BirdieSync 1.7. I have Thunderbird 2.0.0.17, ActiveSync 4.5, and Windows XP Pro SP-3.

I uninstalled BirdieSync 1.6 as Administrator user, the Thunderbird addon was removed automatically as normal user.

I uninstalled the Mobile PC component of BirdieSync from the mobile.

I synchronised my Mobile PC and left it in a synchronised and connected state.

I ran the BirdieSync 1.7.0.2 installer as Administrator user.

I get to select language, agree to the license, pass over backup caution, and...

wait 10-15 second before getting an error stating "
an error occurred when attempting to connect to your mobile".

I have no problem with opening explorer or add/remove programs from ActiveSync.

Any thoughts?
