WMDC partnerhip lost

Strictly speaking this is not a BirdieSycn issue, I'm just hoping that you can lend me a hand here...
My issue is that WMDC seems to delete the partnership after every sync (even if the phone is connected via USB all the time). I'm on Vista, running WMDC 6.1.6965. I use an HTC710 smartphone (WM 6).

I encountered some other issues, namely I could not connect to my employer's VPN as Windows did not detect that there was an active internet connection (although there was one). After some investigation it turned out that the recently installed VMWare was causing the issue. After disabling VMWare's network adapters the VPN issue - and apparently also the WMDC issue - have resolved itself.
But in any case, thanks for the link to the FAQ topic, it might still come handy!
