Installation of Callicia BirdieSync.CAB was unsuccessful

When I try to install BirdieSync 1.6.3.2 my PDA jut says:

Installation of Callicia
BirdieSync.CAB was unsuccessful

Older versions have been fine, but I first got this when I tried to upgrade to 1.6.3.0.

I tried to uninstall completely and then reinstall, but that hasn't helped...

Edit: When I go to "Remove Programs" (on the PDA) no version of BirdieSync is shown, but when I try to install it, it tells me BirdieSync that is already installed (on the PDA)...

Finally got it sorted after a few more retries, reboots and reconfigurations.

What did you do to resolve this issue. I am having the same problem where I uninstalled birdiesync off my PDA and it did not uninstall all the way. It now does not show in the installed programs list to try the uninstall again. When I try to install birdiesync it comes back with the "Installation of Callicia BirdieSync.CAB was unsuccessful" error.

If you are under Windows mobile 5.0, this problem is described in this thread.

To reinstall BirdieSync, here is what I suggest:

On the mobile:
- Go in \Program Files\BirdieSync
- Rename DeviceProvider.dll to DeviceProvider.old.dll
- Rename BirdieWatcher.exe to BirdieWatcher.old.exe
- Soft reset your mobile
- Rename \Program Files\BirdieSync to \Program Files\BirdieSync.old
- Reinstall BirdieSync

If everything is OK delete \Program Files\BirdieSync.old
