Problem Syncing with Birdiesync and Vista

Hi Birdy.
I got a Asus P535 PocketPC and have a problem syncing in vista.
The first version I installed was ok. Lighning was syncing as it should.
Now I installed the most recent build from your webpage and now syncing takes forever and seems to stop at the second from six objects to sync . The progress bar just keeps standing where it is and nothing happens.
The connection to the PPC is ok. I can browse files etc. within the explorer etc.
Is there a log that BirdieSync writes somewhere that I can see where exactly the syncing process hangs?
Best regards and thanks for you support,
sTEELER

Hello,
The location of log files is described in this thread:
thread.
Could you tell me which item category is hanging ?
Did you mean that the first item of this category synchronized well but that the second hanged ?
Thanks.

Yes! Exactly. I have 6 items to be synchronised but the sync app doesn´t tell me which one exactly #2 is. Where can I find which one #2 is?
btw. I have one error in install.log but I wonder how this is possible as birdysync seems to be installed ok.
Here are my logs:

The error in the Install.log file is not important.
I will send you a new version of BirdieSync to see if it could improve the situation.

ALLRIGHT!
I sucessfully installed it and what can I say: It works flawlessly again
VERY GOOD!
Could you tell us what actually went wrong ?
Please keep up the marvelous support you are doing here! This was really quick and you really care for your customers!

Thanks.

Actually, the problem was tricky... Sometimes system functions don't behave the way they should and you have to find workarounds to achieve what you need... So I am happy that it seems to work better now.

The fix will be included in next version.

It seems to be a new problem. The kind of errors that in theory, should never happen...

I am not sure there would be a workaround for the moment (apart from deleting ActiveSync partnership) but I will see if it is possible to identify the contact which seems to have a problem. But it will need a modification of BirdieSync.

Ok.... deleting the partnership doesn`t solve the problem...
It is already the second try on a different pc with a clean, new installation.

It seems there is a problem with a particular contact. I think it is necessary to identify this contact to be able to delete it. It will be necessary to modify BirdieSync to be able to identify this contact. I will send you a modified version of BirdieSync for that.

Sounds goooood

)
but is birdiesync unable to sync birthdays???
the error-log sounds like there is the prob?!

Well, I would say that BirdieSync synchronizes birthday.

But it seems that there is an error reading a birthday in a particular contact and I don't know yet why (I don't see any reason why such an error would happen, appart from a problem in Pocket Outlook...).

Oki
So, I will wait for your special-pocket-pc-bug-tracker-version
Then we will delete this little bastard of a birthday...

BirdieSync 1.5.4.1 has been released. A new trace was added to try to identify the faulty contact...
Could you have a look to DeviceProvider.log on the mobile in \Program Files\BirdieSync and see if you can identity that contact ? Do you see anything particular regarding its birthday ? Could you then try to delete it and see if you still have problems ?
