That's good news ! :)
Could you also send to support(at)birdiesync.com the log ThunderbirdService.log ?
Thank you for your precise description of the problem.

I've had the same issue, but I'm trying out other options at the moment. I would like to try this later if my efforts are not successful.

System Info:
Vista Home Premium (Asus G2S A1)
Clean install of Thunderbird (latest)
Old profile from XP computer which I've had since Thunderbird came out
Moto Q and Mobile Center 6.1

I pretty much have the same issue gboussin is talking about, but I'm in a hurry to try out other options for a trip. Will come back later. :)

Just a FYI. Email me if you need any information.

Hi Birdy,

I installed the thunderbird and then the Birdiesync. The first sync (yesterday) was ok, but today I had the problem with thunderbird (thunderbird only works in secure mode). It didn´t work when birdiesync was activated. When I disabled birdiesync thunderbird worked ok.

Could you help me?

Thanks.

Hello,

Could you tell me if in the crash information, the library ExternalService.dll is mentioned ?
Thanks.

No. The crash information is about unproper work of Thunderbird.

I installed a try version of Bierdie Sync. Do you think that it could be the problem?

Thanks

If you downloaded the trial version 1.6.1.1, that should work.
Don't you have a windows with crash information like :

ppName: thunderbird.exe AppVer: 1.8.20070.7281 ModName: externalservice.dll
ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: --------

Where should be this message?

The box that appears bring only this message:

"Mozilla Thunderbird stops to work.
A problem made the program stops to work correctly. Windows will close the program and will notify you in case of a solution is available"

Maybe on Vista it's no longer displayed to the user.

You may try to open the Event Viewer:

- Open the File Explorer
- Select the Computer icon, right click and select "Manage"
- Go in the Event viewer
- Select for instance the "Windows logs/Application"

You should then find an error regarding "thunderbird.exe" (you can check the date of the error).
In the description of the error in the general tab, in the upper text, you may find different fields separated with comma like the "version", "module" (maybe ExternalService.dll") and "offset".

Thanks.

My Thunderbird also keeps crashing when I try to start it. What can I do? I own a registered version of BirdySync.

Regards.
