Thunderbird 38.2.0

Post by topse »

Hi,
Sorry for bothering... I'd like to know, what I should do with my new Thunderbird... there is now BirdieSync2.x which is compatible. Do I have to use the Beta-Version? If yes... how safe is it?

Thanks and Best Regards,
Tobias

Hello Tobias,

you´re right. If you use TB 38.x.x you have to use the beta.
Imho it´s save. But be sure to backup your data first.

What you should know bevor using Birdyíesync 3.x ist that there are a lot more you have to configurate then in BS 2.x.
To figure out the right config was the biggest problem for me.
With 10+ Adressbooks within over 1000 Contacts in more then 25 groups and more than 10 calendars (lokal, google and in two different owncloud instances) it took me more than 2 hours to find the right config.
My suggestion is to activate one by one the adressbooks and then one by one the calendars. So you can solve Problems, which may occur during first sync, also one by one.

And if something worse happens, you can use your backup.
