Contacts with Photos can no longer be edited in Thunderbird

Hi birdy!
All of a sudden it is no longer possible to edit contacts with photos in Thunderbird, clicking on "OK" after editing does nothing and one MUST click "Cancel"
(In Thunderbird 16.0 with Birdiesync 2.4.4.0)
I have tried reverting to TB 15 and BS 2.4.3.0, same problem.
I have tried deleting the address book in TB an copying contacts back... same problem.
Has some of the photo-sync code changed recently?
I have a feeling that the contacts with photos are somehow corrupt... changing the photo to "Generic Photo" allows the contact to bes saved!
It would still be nice to sync to custom fields as well!
