Windows Mobile it's not the future ! I switched from WM to Android, but no app is offering good TB+lightning sync.

Re: Androïd
will this help at all:
http://www.htc.com/us/support/evo-sprint/downloads/
HTC Sync™ lets you synchronize Outlook and Windows Address Book (Outlook Express), contacts and calendar events on your PC with your phone. It also lets you install third-party Android applications on the phone, and the Mobile Network sharing function as well.
I'm not totally sure, but maybe this can be hooked into for use with Thunderbird/Sunbird

The droid!
We're out in the cold here....
Our options are switching to outlook or (sharp intake of breath ) freely sharing our calendar/contacts with the Google monolith. Birdie, we are in fierce need of your skills.
I registered to make my plea and will wait with baited breath for the Birdie release that helps crack the google cloud.

Re: Androïd
I generally hate "me too" forum posts... but....
Me Too.
With the coming of Windows 7 I fully expect my next phone to be based on Android, and I too would prefer to sync locally to Thunderbird.
To paraphrase... "Help us Birdie!.. You are our only hope!" ;o)

Re: Androïd
I have just upgraded my phone to an Android phone (HTC Desire), and would dearly love to be able to sync it to my Thunderbird/Lightning. I'd even upgrade my BirdieSync for the latest TB Please please please develop an Android version!
Re: Androïd
It looks as though Funambol is a way to do this.
I dont have an Android phone, but I did install the Funambol Server on my PC and also the Thinderbird Sync connector and I can sync between thunderbird, the server and also an iPod i tried.
If anyone has an Android device, try it out..it wasnt that hard to do.
Android will need to connect to your network and then the machine (server) you install the server versison on.
Email me if someone want to try to walk through this with me.

Re: Androïd
Now I own a smartphone, too. It's a HTC Desire with Android 2.2.
What I'm really missing from my old PocketPC is BirdieSync, because I don't want to put my contacts and calendars into Google

Re: Androïd
Hi there.
This week I found a program that seem to fulfill the requirements we all have (to sync locally Thunderbird with Android). Since the latest version 1.8 Android is on their list.
MyPhoneExplorer
Please keep in mind it is donateware so please support the developer if you are satisfied.
Unfortunately Birdiesync still does not commit to any future stragety for their product, so we have to look for alternatives.
Regards,
Oliver

Re: Androïd
Can u provide us with an approximate month of release ?
Re: Androïd
I try LOT of solution (@Olli.B : MyPhoneExplorer is not very "professional" product and, first of all, it doesn't support address groups) and none of them is satisfactory !
Pleeeease give a beta or date for android release

Re: Androïd
Will this Androïd version cover the current features set of WM version : contacts, calendar and tasks ?Birdy wrote:A version of BirdieSync for Android is in the pipe..
I currently use BirdieSync to sync my corporate network calendar (Sun Java Calendar server) that I access with Lightning and the calendar present on my old WM phone.
Will it be possible to do it with an Android phone ?
Thank you for your reading and more for your answer
